FROM THE PUERTO RICO CHAPTER PRESIDENT’S DESK
Dear members, sponsors, and colleagues
A new year in the HFMA Puerto Rico chapter has already commenced full of new challenges but also promising on new opportunities to shine. We are ready to start this journey along with a team of professionals that share the same ideas, vision, and interests in pushing the chapter forward aligned to our new theme – bolder, brighter, better! I am honored to assume the chapter presidency for the new fiscal year 2021-22. HFMA and the Puerto Rico chapter have offered me opportunities for professional growth and networking that have made a significant difference in my professional career. The time has come to be able to offer my best in reward for the professional contribution I have enjoyed as part of the HFMA team.
I would like to thank our predecessor leaders in bringing the chapter to its current level. We would continue the task in making the chapter the place providing our membership the tools and resources they need to keep updated in the healthcare industry trends and providing the way to face new coming regulations and requirements. It is a huge challenge to ensure that the work plan being developed is of interest to all, and that we can bring together new members to perpetuate our chapter. It's not an easy task, but I am confident that the current leadership team would be able, not only to fulfill such challenge, but also providing the needed solutions to our membership, while meeting the expectations of HFMA National

Between a global pandemic, recent natural disasters, and an economic recession, among other difficulties, it is understandable that uncertainty can influence our thoughts. As a result, our knowledge and experience are being tested every day like never before. Regardless of the situation, at HFMA Puerto Rico we remain committed to being present for our membership and providing them with industry trending topics and current information so that they have the tools that contribute to their day-to-day professional work. Now, that mission is more important than ever!
I am proud that HFMA Puerto Rico team members are still responding to the call to ensure that the needs of healthcare industry professionals are met. HFMA is made possible by a combined effort of all members and now it is time to prove it and move forward united and focused.
Finally, despite the challenges ahead, yet one of the strengths that characterizes us as a chapter is the teamwork to adapt quickly to changes and being able to respond to the needs of the healthcare industry and the needs of our membership. Our leadership team is committed to continue collaborating with all of you to meet your expectations, as well as those of HFMA and continue to make a difference as an association impacting the healthcare system.
